Description

At Community Business, we believe social mobility is not just about helping individuals climb the ladder. It's about questioning how that ladder is built, who controls it, and who gets left out.

In unequal societies, mobility isn't just difficult. It can feel like a myth. Meritocracy celebrates individual success while ignoring the systemic barriers that block access to opportunity. Privilege, not just potential, often shapes outcomes.

Our research starts with inequality. We've found that the true barriers to opportunity are not only educational or personal, but structural and social. Financial hardship, limited access to quality education, lack of networks, and entrenched bias combine to shut out talent regardless of ability.

This session will explore how we can move beyond surface-level solutions to tackle the root causes of inequality and build practical, inclusive pathways that truly connect talent with opportunity.
