Positioning for Success in LGBT+ Inclusion

Specifically designed to prepare companies for the 2018/19 iteration of the Hong Kong LGBT+ Inclusion Index, Community Business is conducting a series of 4 workshops from November 2017 to June 2018 in Hong Kong. Each of these 3-hour sessions will focus on different categories in the Index, highlighting what best practice looks like, facilitating sharing between companies and providing a forum for seeking advice.

Participation Fee:

Workshop 1: Equal Opportunity Policies and Benefits

PAST EVENT

This workshop was conducted on Friday 24 November 2017 at Eversheds Office, The Landmark, with 16 participants from different industries. It started with the fundamentals and explored what a good equal opportunity and anti-discrimination policy looks like to ensure an inclusive environment for LGBT+ employees. In addition, the workshop looked at what benefits companies can provide LGBT+ employees, showcasing leading examples.

Workshop 2: Transgender

This workshop was conducted on Wednesday 24 January 2018 at Eversheds Office, The Landmark, with 26 participants from different industries.  During the workshop we explored how companies can proactively address transgender inclusion in their organisations in Hong Kong, looking at policies, training, benefits and monitoring.

Workshop 3: Community and Advocacy

Recognising that companies have a broader role to play in promoting LGBT+ inclusion, this session will focus on how companies leverage their position to support the local community, engage clients and suppliers and influence government.

Workshop 4: Executive Sponsors, Allies and Role Models

This workshop will highlight the importance of creating an LGBT+ inclusive culture by appointing executive sponsors, allies and role models. It will look at how to support executive sponsors to play a proactive role, how to promote an effective ally campaign, and how to encourage openly LGBT+ employees to be role models.
