Which workshop have you chosen to be a part of the DIAN Professional Series and why?
Every one of us wants to find a ‘’meaningful career’ – my workshop combining creativity, spirituality and practicality offers concrete actions to find meaning.
Why do you think this topic is important?
It’s the missing and critical link for building inclusive organizations.
What do you think participants will gain from attending your session?
Self-awareness and a plan for next steps
What makes this session different from other workshops?
The combination of creativity, reflection, and practical steps – and the collective intelligence of the participants in the room.
Why are you passionate about diversity and inclusion?
I’m fascinated by crossing cultures and listening to other people’s stories.
What experiences have led you to do the work you do today?
Conducting research across the Asia Pacific Region on Women in Leadership, I uncovered fascinating insights on navigating careers, maintaining balance and sustaining success.
What is your experience in Asia?
I have lived, worked, and studied across the Asia Pacific Region – my first ‘job’ was teaching graduate student engineers English in Changsha, Hunan Province. From there I moved to Hong Kong and worked for a family run conglomerate and multinational organizations. My work and doctoral research brought me to many countries across Asia.
What do you love most/particularly interesting about this work in Asia?
Helping women navigate careers, finding balance and sustaining success.
When it comes to promoting diversity and inclusion, what area of your work are you most proud?
My research with Asian Women Leaders, working with multinational organizations to build a pipeline of diverse talent, and facilitating and coaching emerging leaders.
What do you think is the next big thing in the D&I space in Asia (or any specific country in Asia)?
Building Global Leaders and realizing the value of ‘’collective intelligence” to solve complex business and social issues.
Are you/have you worked/working on anything that we can tell our members about?
Last year, I worked on a global research project looking at Women in Higher Education. I’m about to publish my third book on The Art of Career Navigation.
